Distinctions in Neuroscience Nursing Practice

Inova’s annual Neuroscience Nursing Conference is created for nurses in or interested in neuroscience nursing to be able to convene, present and learn about standards of care, evidence-based practice, education and research in the neurosciences in order to improve patient outcomes and have the ability to convene in dialogue. Dynamic presentations and break out sessions are scheduled in addition to a kickoff speaker.  Onsite registrants will be provided breakfast and lunch.

Inova Nursing Professional Development is approved as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the Virginia Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. Criteria for successful completion includes attendance at the entire event and completion of an evaluation. There are no relevant financial relationships with ineligible companies for those with the ability to control the content of this activity.

  • Engage in evidence-based practice and quality improvement to transform patient care and outcomes
  • Work in multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care of patients with epilepsy, spine disorders, stroke, and other neurological conditions.
  • Convene in quality standard working groups, evidence based and research projects and in leadership development

Fadia Feghali is an accomplished healthcare nursing executive with more than two decades of experience in nursing leadership in a hospital setting. In Inova Neurosciences she holds responsibility for nursing functions across the entirety of the service line: neurology, neurosurgery, neuroscience nursing, and neurological research and education while also overseeing a Neuroscience Shared Governance Nursing Council across the health system. She is a dedicated leader and is pioneering nursing education advancement and career pathways for Inova Neurosciences within the Inova Health System.

Dr. Alquietta Brown is not just an experienced nursing executive, but an inspiring figure whose unique narrative takes you through the diverse spheres of the healthcare industry, military service, and academia. Currently leading as the Senior Nursing Executive at Inova, she is the driving force behind their behavioral health service line, a testament to her wide-ranging proficiency in academic medical sectors. Her journey includes a noteworthy tenure as the Assistant Vice President of Nursing and Patient Care Services Division at MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital (MNRH). Here, she expertly helmed a plethora of departments, shaping the future of healthcare and serving as an inspiration for many. Her story is one of continuous evolution, from the clinical floors of Howard University Hospital to Operation Desert Storm, where as a Battalion Adjutant in the United States Army, she earned the Army Accommodation and the National Defense Service Metal. Dr. Brown’s academic accolades reflect her passion for learning - a doctorate from Walden University, a master’s from Strayer University, and a bachelor's degree from Howard University, all in the field of health services. As a kickoff speaker, Dr. Brown delivers an empowering message, interspersing professional insights with personal experiences, leaving her audience informed, inspired, and eager to make their own mark in the world.
