Inova Nursing Professional Development is approved as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the Virginia Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. Criteria for successful completion includes attendance at the entire event and completion of an evaluation. Currently leading as the Senior Nursing Executive at Inova, she is the driving force behind their behavioral health service line, a testament to her wide-ranging proficiency in academic medical sectors. Her journey includes a noteworthy tenure as the Assistant Vice President of Nursing and Patient Care Services Division at MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital (MNRH). Here, she expertly helmed a plethora of departments, shaping the future of healthcare and serving as an inspiration for many. Her story is one of continuous evolution, from the clinical floors of Howard University Hospital to Operation Desert Storm, where as a Battalion Adjutant in the United States Army, she earned the Army Accommodation and the National Defense Service Metal. Dr. Brown’s academic accolades reflect her passion for learning - a doctorate from Walden University, a master’s from Strayer University, and a bachelor's degree from Howard University, all in the field of health services.
